The arrival of Lennon Courtney Lorenz!

Mike and I decided to move forward with an elective induction the morning of April 21 at 39 weeks. We chose to do so as we knew either Dr. Wolf or Dr. Kronfuss would be delivering our baby. We spent Monday night giving Harper extra snuggles and packing up for the big delivery the following morning. It was comforting knowing what was to come and to prepare Harper for the arrival of her baby sister. After dropping Harper off at Mimi's and giving her one last hug and kiss, we were off to L&D for our scheduled induction at 7:30am. Upon arrival, the nurse set me up with a light dose of pitocin to start gradual contractions. I was given an epidural by 1pm, right after my contractions became intense. Mike and I were able to relax for about for about four hours, we were even laughing out loud several times. Once I hit 4cm at around 5pm, I started to dilate a lot faster. Dr. Wolf and Dr. K showed up around 6:30pm informing me that Dr. Wolf would be delivering. Mike and I were very surprised and excited as Dr. Wolf delivered Harper and has been traveling around the country for the past year. Dr. Wolf let me know that Lennon would be arriving anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes and that she needed to get suited up. Although the epidural helped with the pain, I could still feel some pain and the pressure from the contractions was becoming more and more intense. I was able to push Lennon out with just two contractions, in less than three minutes. At 6:59pm, Dr. Wolf delivered Lennon Courtney and placed her in my arms. She was perfect... Mike and I fell in love at first sight. She was beautiful with a head full of dark hair! The staff was a bit worried as she didn't cry when she was born, Dr. Wolf said that she was fine and just chill like her parents. I was able to hold Lennon for about 2 hours before they gave her a bath and measured her. It was such a wonderful experience! She weighed 7 lbs, 6 ozs, and was 20 inches long. My mom, Harper, Betty, and Lindsey arrived around 8:30pm to meet Lennon. Harper was absolutely in LOVE with her new sister and couldn't believe how much hair she had. It melted my heart to see her hold her for the first time. The birth of Lennon was such an amazing experience, and I couldn't be happier. God is good!

Harper has the best Papa ever! He brings her maple bars and chocolate milk every Friday, and gives her rides on the John Deere!

Our silly monkey!
